Add 2 tablespoons of simple syrup to a 12-14-ounce insulated glass or cup.
Brew a double shot of espresso and pour it into the glass.
Top with steamed milk and light foam. Add the extra tablespoon of simple syrup if you would like it sweeter and more rose forward.
Crush rose petals and sprinkle them on top (about 1 teaspoon), if desired.
Notes:
*No espresso machine? You can recreate this latte by brewing coffee at double strength and using it instead of espresso. To make steamed milk, microwave it until hot, then use a frother wand to create a light foam topping. The rose flavor should be subtle and not overpower the coffee or cardamom. If desired, stir in an additional tablespoon of syrup for a more defined rose flavor.Only use food-grade rose petals; florist roses are treated with chemicals.
