Instructions

  • Add 2 tablespoons of simple syrup to a 12-14-ounce insulated glass or cup.
  • Brew a double shot of espresso and pour it into the glass.
  • Top with steamed milk and light foam. Add the extra tablespoon of simple syrup if you would like it sweeter and more rose forward.
  • Crush rose petals and sprinkle them on top (about 1 teaspoon), if desired.

Notes:

*No espresso machine? You can recreate this latte by brewing coffee at double strength and using it instead of espresso. To make steamed milk, microwave it until hot, then use a frother wand to create a light foam topping.
The rose flavor should be subtle and not overpower the coffee or cardamom. If desired, stir in an additional tablespoon of syrup for a more defined rose flavor.
Only use food-grade rose petals; florist roses are treated with chemicals.
