I love sipping on a Rose Cardamom Cocktail, especially around Valentine’s Day. It is such a beautiful, romantic gin drink with its light, floral taste and scattering of rose petals on top.
It tastes sophisticated but takes less than five minutes to make, which makes this the perfect drink to serve when friends stop by.

What is in a Rose Cardamom Cocktail?

This Rose Cardamom Cocktail consists of good quality gin (please, please don’t buy the cheap stuff), homemade rose cardamon syrup, lemon, sparkling water and optional rose petals for garnish.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Light, floral, and not overly sweet, you adjust the rose flavor
  • Easy to batch-make for entertaining or brunch
  • Uses a homemade Rose Cardamom Simple Syrup for big flavor, which can be used to make a non-alcoholic version or a Rose Cardamom Latte.

I first fell in love with the rose and cardamom flavor combo while sipping a latte at my neighborhood bakery. I loved it so much that I knew I needed to have this pairing on hand. So I made a Rose Cardamom Simple Syrup, and now I add it to my tea, lattés, cocktails, and mocktails.

Start With the Syrup

This drink gets its signature floral notes from my Rose Cardamom Simple Syrup. It keeps in the fridge for weeks, so you can mix elegant drinks anytime. For step-by-step instructions, grab the Rose Cardamom Simple Syrup recipe here.

Valentine’s Day Drink Idea

With its soft blush color and floating rose petals, this makes a beautiful Valentine’s Day drink. The floral flavor feels romantic and elegant without being overly sweet; perfect for date nights, Galentine’s brunch, or a relaxing evening at home.

Expert Tips

  • Chill your glass for a more cocktail-bar feel
  • Don’t over-sweeten; start with less syrup and adjust to taste. For a stronger rose flavor, use 1 ounce of syrup; for a more delicate flavor, use 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon),
  • After shaking, if the cocktail shaker is difficult to open, tap the lid gently with the back of a knife.
  • Safety tip: Only choose culinary-grade rose petals. Those from a florist are often treated with sprays and aren’t meant for eating.
  • Add sparkling water just before serving to keep the drink bubbly.

Make Ahead and Storage Info

The drink is best mixed fresh. However, if you’re batch preparing, mix the gin and syrup ahead of time and refrigerate until needed. Then, serve in coupe or cocktail glasses and top with sparkling water and lemon so the drink stays crisp and fizzy.
The base Rose Cardamom Simple Syrup keeps well in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. As a result, it becomes an easy last-minute option for entertaining or the holidays.

Rose Cardamom Cocktail FAQs

Can I make this for a crowd?

Absolutely. Multiply the gin and syrup in a pitcher, chill, then top each glass with sparkling water when serving.

Can I use florist roses for the garnish?

Use only dried, food-grade roses, not those intended for a flower arrangement, as most are treated with a chemical spray.

Can I make this without a shaker?

Yes, just stir well over ice in a glass, then strain before topping with sparkling water.
